Do you ever wish you were a god? Do you wish you had the power to smite people at will? Well prepare to get behind one of the most powerful hammers in the entire western world. Ultimate Thor is a god simulator that was out decades before Black & White or any of those other god simulators. You play as Thor smiting the unworthy and crushing the feeble. Using state of the art technology for the time, the game engine of Ultimate Thor can feed back information to the player as to how well Thor thinks they are doing in real time.
With massive body counts this game was surprisingly well received by the British public considering the upset caused by cowboy hunter a mere 3 years previous.
To play: Click the start button and then use the space button to smite the unholy.
In 1972 Ken Battersford opened his first and only video games arcade. Nestled in the green rolling hills of the midlands in the small market town of Draughton just off the A508, kens endeavor was at first viewed as witch craft and subsequently burnt down. Undeterred Ken opened another arcade 2 years later in 1974 but some miles down the road in Maidwell which is closer to the A508. This time ken was successful and his video game arcade was accepted and enjoyed for many a year.
Using ultra modern technology this blog archives many of the classic games that featured in kens arcade over the years and we hope that they will bring you as much enjoyment as they brought the youth of 1970s Britain.
